  • Lets talk about them

    ...

Such a delicate charming textural flower. Like all perennials it's not a showstopper - but it certainly adds that magic touch.

I adore the little pink flowers like a pink gypsophila, but for me it’s when the flowers fade and the deep coppery red little berries form, that Jewels of Opar really shines

  • How to make these beauties grow

    ...

Sow: *Autumn for overwintering or mid spring 6-8 weeks before the last frost.

How: Surface sow and cover lightly - light required for germination. *If overwintering grow on in a cold frame or greenhouse if you experience anything more then a light frost then I do in the south island.

    Space: 30cm

    Height: 90cm

    Where: Full sun

    Days to Maturity: 90-100 days

Pick: When the red berries are fully formed and the stems have matured to a darker red colour.

    Hardy Annual

  • Notes From The Garden

    ...

Tender perennial - so basically protect from hard frosts.

Can be treated as annual and re-sown each spring.

Happily self seeds so dead head reguarly if you do not want plants popping up everywhere - just like feverfew.
